Policy Summary

Fair review without blanket promises or blanket exclusions

DG Singhania Packers aims to handle confirmed goods with reasonable care. When a concern is reported, the company may review whether the issue is connected with the confirmed packing, handling, loading, transport, unloading or placement scope.

A review considers the item’s declared condition, packing responsibility, inventory, photographs, packaging, delivery records, handling evidence and the written quotation. It does not automatically establish fault, full replacement value or insurer coverage.

Important: Nothing in this policy excludes a customer right or company obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Core Principles

How claim review is approached

The process focuses on evidence, causation, service responsibility and applicable written terms.

01

Written scope first

Review begins with the quotation, inventory and confirmed packing, handling and transport responsibilities.

02

Condition matters

Pre-existing wear, weakness, repairs and visible damage are relevant to causation and assessment.

03

Evidence matters

Photographs, videos, packaging, delivery records and communications help reconstruct what occurred.

04

No automatic result

Neither a submitted claim nor a damaged item creates automatic liability, full replacement or insurance settlement.

Review Scope

When a company claim review may apply

The issue must be assessed against the actual service and available evidence.

Review may consider

  • Damage connected with confirmed company packing or handling
  • Damage connected with confirmed loading, transport or unloading
  • Declared goods that were included in the written inventory or scope
  • Condition changes supported by photographs, packaging or delivery records
  • Vehicle-condition concerns where vehicle transport was confirmed
  • Loss or shortage where custody, inventory and handover evidence can be reviewed

Review may be limited or require more evidence

  • Customer-packed sealed cartons with unknown internal packing
  • Old, repaired, unstable, rusted, cracked or already damaged goods
  • Undeclared fragile, unusual, high-value or special-care items
  • Electrical, mechanical or internal malfunction without visible handling evidence
  • Delay, weather, traffic, access or another cause outside confirmed responsibility
  • Items outside the quotation, restricted goods or customer-held valuables
Evidence and Records

Information that supports a fair review

Not every item will have every record. The available evidence is considered together.

QT

Quotation and scope

Written quotation, selected services, inventory, addenda and any disclosed special conditions.

BC

Before-condition records

Photographs, videos, survey notes, declared damage and visible pre-existing condition.

PK

Packing evidence

Who packed the item, packaging method, carton condition, labels and visible protection.

TR

Handling and transit records

Loading sequence, delivery records, vehicle condition, communications and custody information.

AF

After-delivery evidence

Clear photographs or video of the item, packaging, location and time the concern was noticed.

VD

Value documents

Invoice, purchase record, age, repair estimate, serial number or other relevant value information.

Goods and Conditions

How different goods are reviewed

The same conclusion cannot be applied to every item or every packing condition.

Separate Processes

Company claim review is not an insurer decision

The same photographs or documents may be relevant, but the decision-makers and governing terms are different.

Company handling review

DG Singhania Packers reviews whether a reported issue is connected with its confirmed service scope.

  • Considers quotation and inventory
  • Considers declared condition and packing responsibility
  • Considers handling and delivery evidence
  • Does not create automatic full-replacement entitlement

Transit insurance assessment

Transit insurance support is available on request. Coverage depends on the insurer’s terms and declared value.

  • The insurer decides eligibility and exclusions
  • The insurer may apply depreciation or settlement rules
  • Documents and notice requirements may apply
  • DG Singhania Packers does not determine the insurer’s final decision
Claim Process

How to request and support a review

Report the concern as early as reasonably possible and preserve relevant evidence.

1

Report

Use an authorised written channel and include the booking or quotation reference.

2

Preserve

Keep the item, packaging, labels, photographs, videos and delivery records where reasonably possible.

3

Describe

Explain prior condition, who packed the item, when the concern was noticed and where it occurred.

4

Review

The company reviews scope, condition, evidence, handling responsibility and relevant written terms.

5

Respond

The company may request more information and communicate the review position or next step in writing.

Do not dispose of packaging or arrange irreversible repair before review unless safety, property protection or another urgent reason makes that necessary. Keep records of any urgent action.
Possible Review Outcomes

The result depends on the evidence and circumstances

This list describes possible process outcomes, not guaranteed remedies.

More information needed

The available records may be insufficient, requiring photographs, condition history, documents or inspection.

Handling connection identified

The review may identify a connection with the confirmed company handling scope and proceed to a reasonable resolution discussion.

Mixed or uncertain cause

Pre-existing condition, packing, internal failure, third-party action or external conditions may make causation mixed or uncertain.

No handling responsibility established

The available evidence may not establish that the issue was caused within the confirmed company scope.

Legal safeguard: Nothing in this policy prevents a customer from using a competent consumer forum, court, regulator or other authority having jurisdiction under applicable law.
Special Categories

Items requiring clearer boundaries

These categories should be disclosed before quotation or kept with the customer.

Customer-held valuables

Personal devices

Personal laptops, hard drives, USB drives and sensitive personal data media should normally remain under the customer’s direct control.

Corporate IT assets

Selected inventoried corporate IT assets may be moved when written; data, shutdown and recommissioning remain customer responsibilities.

Plants

Plant movement is feasibility-based. Plant survival, freshness or leaf condition cannot be guaranteed.

Pets and live animals

Pets, live fish and other live animals are not handled by this shifting service.

Hazardous and prohibited goods

Illegal, flammable, explosive, hazardous, leaking or prohibited goods should not be included with ordinary moving goods.

List glass, mirrors, crockery, televisions, artwork and unusual items.

Keep records

Retain the quotation, inventory, payment proof, photographs and communications.

Inspect delivery

Check major goods and packaging when reasonably possible and report concerns early.

Carry sensitive personal valuables and data devices yourself.

Claim Policy FAQs

Questions about review, evidence and insurance

These answers are general guidance. The actual quotation, evidence and applicable law remain relevant.

Is claim review available for damage caused during the move?

Yes. Claim review is available for damage caused during company handling, subject to the confirmed service scope, declared condition, packing responsibility, available evidence and applicable written terms.

Does claim review guarantee full replacement value?

No. A review does not create an automatic full-replacement entitlement. The outcome depends on the circumstances, evidence, item condition, written scope, applicable law and any separate insurer decision.

How should I report a delivery concern?

Report the concern as early as reasonably possible through an authorised written channel. Include the booking reference, service date, item description, photographs or video, packaging condition and any relevant documents.

How are customer-packed cartons reviewed?

Customer-packed status does not automatically determine every outcome. Review may consider external carton condition, packing suitability, declared contents, handling evidence and the written service scope.

Are old or already damaged items excluded automatically?

No automatic conclusion should be assumed. Pre-existing cracks, weak joints, rust, loose parts, repairs and wear are relevant to causation and assessment and should be disclosed before packing or loading.

Is transit insurance the same as the company claim review?

No. Company claim review and insurer claim assessment are separate processes. The insurer independently decides coverage, exclusions, depreciation, evidence and settlement under its terms.

Are plants, pets and live animals covered under normal claims?

Pets and live animals are not handled by this shifting service. Plant movement is feasibility-based, and survival, freshness or leaf condition cannot be guaranteed.

Which items should remain with the customer?

Cash, jewellery, original documents, essential medicines, personal laptops, hard drives, sensitive data devices and irreplaceable small sentimental items should remain under the customer's control.
